Blink

I finished reading Blink by Malcolm Gladwell and I really liked the book. I definitely recommend this book. It is about how we think without thinking, about decisions in a second. I had lunch at Red Robin in Rivermark Santa Clara for Jerome's belated birthday get together. I had my hair cut short, sporting the bob hair style. I had dinner at Cheesecake Factory, and liked the BBQ salmon and 30th anniversary cheesecake.

just at home

I'm staying at home all day since my mom took my car. The other car has a flat tire problem. I was suppose to go hiking today with Shilpa in Morgan so I had to cancel.

toured SF

We toured around San Francisco on Memorial Day. We went to the popular tourist sites like Golden Gate Bridge and Lombard Street. We drove by Little Italy, Chinatown, Castro, Fisherman's Wharf, and Financial District. It was a bit foggy, so it was difficult to see the bridge and Alcatraz. We ate at Cha Cha Cha on Mission Street for dinner. I sure like the sangria. On Tuesday I had lunch at Pho Hoa. For some reason after eating Pho, my stomach growls later in the afternoon. On Tuesday night, I went to Cheesecake Factory and we had the 30 year chocolate cheesecake which was good. Yesterday, I dropped off Hoggie at the airport. He is on his way to live in Sydney.

Memorial Day

Yesterday, I had dinner with the talofa crew at Sushi Tomo on Dana in downtown Mountain View. We liked it. The blue crap tofu soup looked good and the special sushi roll was good too, I forgot the name. We walked around a bit, then we ate at Neto Cafe for dessert, we had the tiramisu, fruit tart, and Belgian chocolate mouse, and we also went to the Hong Kong Bakery for sweets. I'm eating way too much this weekend. I also went to Great Mall in the afternoon which is so hard to find parking sometimes.

Plumed Horse

I had dinner at Plumed Horse in Saratoga. My favorite dish is the signature dish of the black pepper souffle. It was a 7 course tasting menu with wine pairing. Afterwards, we got the munchies from drinking a lot of wine, so we went to Da Kao for Vietnamese sandwich on San Salvador in San Jose. I talked to Vim yesterday, and I might visit her in Boston during the July 4th weekend.

Estampas Peruanas

I had dinner last night at Estampas Peruanas for Peruvian food. I had the beef alfando which was okay. I liked the inca cola drink, fried plantain, and the ceviche was not so bad. Tonight, I'll be going to Plumed Horse in Saratoga, the place is one michelin star, very fancy for the tasting menu with wine pairing. I need to fast today to prepare for the big meal tonight.

chevy's

I had happy hour at Chevy's. The margaritas are only $3. I liked the fajita nacho appetizer which is discounted. I got a speeding ticket today on Hanover close to Page Mill Road. The speed limit is 30 mph and I was not paying attention to my rear view mirror, the cop must of been hiding in one of the parking lots. So be careful on the roads in Palo Alto since I saw another police car on Embarcadero waiting to ticket someone. I am so mad at myself for getting the ticket. The last time I got a speeding ticket was like 7 years ago.

Nordstrom Rack

I had lunch at Saffron Rice. I like the chai and buffet. I'm excited. Hoggie will be arriving tomorrow. On Sunday, I checked out the Nordstrom Rack and Sports Authority in EPA. Then we ate appetizers at Firehouse Brewery. Then we went to Scott's. I have not been there in a while. Then we went to Fu Lam Mum in Mountain View after 9pm for the dim sum late night snack.

Korean Tofu House

After watching Wolverine on Friday, we ate at Korean Tofu House in the Cupertino area where the ranch 99 market is located. The food was not bad. Even though they were closing at 9:30pm, we walked in at 9:25pm and they let us eat. We ate in like 30 minutes. Then we went to Fantasia for boba.

Hoggie is back

Tahogwa is in Seattle. I'll be seeing him sometime next week. He was here last year for a week before he left for Melbourne. On Monday, I ate at Koma for the fish bento box. On Tuesday, I ate at Udupi Palace for dinner for the spinach dosa. My friend ordered the onion dosa and it was too much onions. I liked the sambar. Yesterday, I went to Krum Thai in Mountain View next to Trader Joe's. I liked the green curry. I'll be watching the movie Wolverine tonight.

SFO airport

I went to the airport today to drop off Yaya. She is off to Singapore. Yesterday, we had dinner at Chinwah's house for Xian dishes. We made pork dumplings like star shape. We watched Chinwah's event show on the Asian channel at 6:30pm. Now, I know an anchor person.

ran 3 miles

Suprisingly, I didn't eat out today. I ran 3 miles around the Ravenswood and Palo Alto Bay Lands trail.

Bombay Garden

I had brunch at Bombay Garden on 3rd Ave. in San Mateo for Indian buffet. Later, I went to 24 hour fitness gym to use the elliptical and treadmill.

Bangkok Bay

I had lunch at Bangkok Bay for Thai food in Redwood City. In the restaurant, the princess of Thailand went to eat there. I watched the French film Shall we kiss at Guild in Menlo Park, it was not that great. Then I had dessert at Sakura Cake on University Ave. in Palo Alto.
