fantastic 4, kickboxing class
Last night, I saw the movie fantastic 4. I liked it. I have not read the comic books.
During kick boxing, we do a lot of jumping with our guards up (hands protecting our chest) called the boxer. I feel silly just jumping around. We march to warm up. We do jumping jacks, jabs, upper cut, locks, and blocks, a repetition of 4 each. We do front, back diagonal, and side kicks. The instructor says that we need to lift our knee first and then see the our heel in the mirror to do a proper kick. We do combinations like diagonal front kick (right), then front kick with the same leg (right), then another front kick with opposite leg (left), and jab with the left arm. It is difficult to explain it. We would crouch low and then do a side kick. We do combinations with the lock and upper cut, and sometimes the instructor would say double time, so we would have to do it so fast that I would lose track and be out of sync with the instructor. We do not pair up to fight each other, we just face the front of the room and follow the instructor, similar to aerobics. Before class ends, we do 10 minute stretches which feels so good afterwards. I have two more classes to go.
After work, I am going to Shoreline area again to walk about 3 miles.
