work

It felt good to leave work early. I woke up so early because my parents were up and they were preparing my aunt and my uncle for dialysis. They need to go to dialysis three times a week because their kidney does not function properly. As for work, I finally solved the problem, it took me a week to solve it, I felt so pressured to figure it out. I even brought my work home so I can finish loose ends.

memorial day

Today is Memorial Day. I don't have work today, and so do a lot of people. Restaurants and shopping areas are open today. I just came back from eating yummy dim sum. I have not had dim sum in a long time like in a month. I usually eat dim sum every Sunday but it kept being rescheduled until next weekend. Later in the evening, I have to take my cousin to the airport and I also have to take my mom to San Jose, just being a taxi driver for other people.

pinnacles

Yesterday, I went hiking at the Pinnacles National Monument park. It is about two hours south of San Jose. I hiked for about 3.5 miles. I hiked an elevation of 800 feet. The pinnacles national monument is located in the area of the fault earthquake, it was so beautiful to see the rock formations that was done from the result of the earthquake. Today, I woke up so sore from the hike. I have not done exercise in a long time.

After pinnacles, I went shopping at Gilroy. It was so busy there. Most of the check out registers had long lines. I went to most of the sporty stores. After that, I went to a new Indian and Pakistan restaurant in Santa Clara, it was good, and cheap reasonable prices. Then I went shopping again to TJ Max. Finally, I dropped my cousin off in San Francisco at Sir Francis Drake. I was getting frustrated around San Francisco because I had a hard time finding a place to park. I had a long day yesterday, I left home at 9am and returned around 11pm.

Today, I am suppose to meet my friend for dim sum today but she has not called me back yet. I am still waiting for her call, I hope she did not forget about our get together today. In the meantime, I am at work because I need to finish some of my tasks by Tuesday but so far I am getting frustrated because I am having such a difficult time solving the problem.

car

I will not have a car tomorrow to use for the whole day. My dad wants to borrow my car since it is more reliable than his other three cars. I will have tomorrow off from work. I guess I will be staying home, or I can take the bus and caltrain to visit my cousin in San Francisco.

return dress

Do you return stuff that you buy? Last month, I bought two dresses for a wedding, I liked both of the dresses, but I did not know which one to wear. Now, I want to return one of the dresses since I have not worn it. I feel weird returning the dress since it has been already a month since I bought it. Maybe I can get store credit at Ann Taylor.

cousin visting

I am so excited. My cousin will be visiting the San Francisco bay area for the Memorial weekend. I have Monday off for that holiday. My cousin lives in Vancouver, Washington, he is about 30 minutes from Portland, Oregon. I will be picking up my cousin today at the airport, you know me, being a taxi driver again. My cousin will be staying at the Sir Francis Drake hotel near Union Square, in the heart of downtown San Francisco.

cousins dinner

I had Italian food last night at Cafe Niebaum-Coppola in Palo Alto with my cousins. I had pizza sofia with ingredients prosciutto, cheese, and veggie; and my favorite Italian dessert tiramisu. My girl cousins and I try to get together at least once a month for dinner. Last month, we went to Left Bank for French food. Next month, we will go to Fukisushi, yummy calamari and sushi. We take turns each month to decide on the restaurant. We started the monthly dinners last year. So far we have been good about it, if one of us can't make it, we try to reschedule so that all four of us will be there.

dry skin

My skin gets so dry especially around my hands. I put lotion and mosturizer, it works for a while and then I end up washing my hands, then my hand looks so cracked and dry. Sometimes at night, I scratch my fingers then it starts to bleed. I am thinking that it has to do something with what I eat. I notice if I eat sweet foods, my fingers itch, or maybe it is just psychological. The only thing that heals my fingers from dry skin is cortizone which was prescribed from the doctor. I could not find that specific cortizone in the drug store.

fuel injection

Do you get fuel injection cleaning service on your car? Everytime, I go to the honda dealership, they ask me if I want to get the fuel injection service done, so that my car performs better when I press the accelerator. It costs $90. I feel like I don't need to get it. Do you think I should get it next time when I go in for my car service? The next time I will go for minor maintenence when my car hits 105,000 miles, and I also need to change the timing belt.

weekend

Yesterday, I went shopping at Macy's Valley Fair and it was so busy. It was superstar sale there. I bought black flip flops and birthday presents. I drove my mom to her banks, I am so like her taxi driver, since my mom does not have a car. My mom plans to use my carduring July, so I will not have my car during work time, my mom will be dropping and picking me up from work because she needs the car when she starts work, at least I will only lose my car for about a month.

Today, I have to pick up my cousin from the airport because she is coming back from the Philippines. She was there for about three weeks, lucky her, she also went to Hong Kong and Beijing. I so feel like a taxi driver again, I am always picking up people to go to the airport.

Tomorrow, I have to stay home the whole day and watch my auntie and my uncle while my dad goes to a land auction. I so don't like it when my dad tells me last minute that I have to stay at home and babysit them, he just told me today.

star wars III

Early this morning at 1:00 am, I watched Star Wars Revenge of the Sith III. Today is opening day. This movie was better than the 1st and 2nd movie. I did not have to wait in line, the theatre was already open for seating at 11pm, good thing I did not have to stand and wait in the line outside in the cold. I saw cool costumes like the jedi and princess lea hair do. I want to watch the 4, 5, and 6 episode to remember what happened. I only had about 2 hours of sleep last night, since I got home around 4:30am, and I wanted to get to work early. I keep yawning, I am going to take a nap when I go home tonight.

death

I am so shocked to hear this morning that the vice president of my work died last night from a heart attack, and he was so young in his 50's. It got me thinking that we are so fortunate to have life. Anything can happen. It seems like bad things happen to good people. It is so sad to hear. The vice president was a good person.

meetings

I was just in a meeting and I am working on designing some part of the board, and when my name was mentioned for designing it, someone smirked as if they did not believe that I can do it. It just makes me so mad and frustrated when people do that. Another person asked me a question, and I did not know the answer and they kind of made a mean facial expression and laughed weirdly. I so don't like meetings, and I have to go to these meetings once a week. I already have two meetings a week. I try to avoid the meetings but then someone reminds me to go to the meeting, and I just want to forget the meeting. What's the point? I just usually sit there and say anything because the other people want to do more of the talking.

phone calls

Don't you just hate it when people don't return your calls? I have been trying to get a hold of my friend (I don't want to mention her name.) but she does not answer my phone calls and I know that she does not have easy access to the internet, so the best way to contact her is through her cell phone which she is not answering at the time. Well.... I guess that's how she is, it takes forever to get a reply from her. I should not be talking bad about people. I guess I just needed to vent this out.

can foods, eggs, coffee, tea

I have been eating a lot of can foods and eggs. Yesterday and this morning, I ate spam. Too much sodium is bad for me. I practically eat one egg a day. My dad makes half a dozen of boiled eggs in the morning, it is so convenient to eat and bring the boiled egg with me to work.

For some reason, I am back to be being the coffee addict. I love the smell of the beans. My friend gave me coffee from Hawaii and I just love sniffing the coffee bag, I have the chocolate macadamia and vanilla macadamia. I have been drinking coffee every morning for the past three weeks. I should try cutting back on the coffee. In the afternoons, I drink green tea. I had green tea for dinner yesterday and I had a hard time sleeping right away.

PO Box

I just paid off my PO Box yesterday. I need a PO Box because my parents open my mail. I get so mad when they open my mail especially my bank statements. Now I am trying to do electronic statements for my bank accounts and bills. Its funny... my parents don't open my junk mail. I don't open my parents mail. Its against the law to open other people's mail.

flip flops

Do you think it is okay to wear flip flops to work? Other people at my work are wearing shorts and sandals. As I was leaving the house today, my mom was telling me not to wear flip flops to work, but I have been wearing flip flops to work for about a couple of weeks, and none of my co-workers mentioned anything to me. I like wearing flip flops because I can stretch my feet more under my desk. I can easily sit Indian style on my chair and just feel more comfortable. Also, my feet can breath. I feel so sufficated when I wear tennis shoes. The only problem with flip flops is that I cannot run too much on it. I'll just have to walk fast. I think I have over 10 flip flops at home, most of them black though.

movie

I saw the movie Monster-In-Law last night. It had some funny parts. I liked the movie. I was running errands yesterday, I so feel like a taxi driver. I am always driving my mom around since she does not have a car and she does not like to drive at night. I was just looking at my visa bill, and I was so surprised, it seems like I pay so much each month, I try to watch my spending but I end up paying nearly 1000 per month.

mondays

I had a hard time getting up this morning. Mondays are so hard for me to get to work. I did not do much for the weekend. I watched the movie Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I liked the movie.
