med exam

Yesterday, I went to get a medical exam for flying and I passed so I can continue to fly. I have a student pilot third class medical certificate. I watched the movie Enchanted and I laughed at a few of the scenes, way too melodramatic. Later today is my co-worker's holiday potluck at her brand new home in San Jose.

8th flying lesson

At 1000 feet, I did S-turns, rectangular turns, and a circle turn relative to the wind. I had fun on the turns. I still need improvement on taxiing and talking to the tower, I forget sometimes what to say so I have to look at my cheatsheet. Merry Christmas! I flew on Christmas morning and studied for flying. I just stayed at home with my parents and my uncle. I missed out on the Christmas with my cousins, my aunts, and my uncles at Roseville which is next to Sacramento.

company holiday

I have holiday from work since 12/21 to 1/1. So nice to get 8 working days off. I have been eating out as usual, had Hawaiian food in Mountain View, Chocolate Sushi on El Camino Real in Sunnyvale close to Fair Oaks, Illusions/Faprovo for Mediterean food on California Ave. in Palo Alto. I did my last minute shopping at Stanford yesterday. I still have a few more people to buy presents. I'll probably buy it after Xmas.

4th flying lesson

I had my 4th flying lesson and the ride was so bumpy, I felt like I was on a rollar coaster, no wonder the airport was not so busy today. Yesterday, was a nice day to fly so many airplanes. Sometimes the plane, would go right even thought I didn't move it. I need to work on the bumpy/turbulance fear because it is like hitting a pot hole when driving on the road. I still did the same thing as last time, slow flight, power off stall, I couldn't do power on stall because the clouds were at like 4000 feet and when we fly around 3000 feet it was bumpy. We try to avoid the clouds. I will be flying again next week. It took me about half an hour to do preflight check. On Friday, I went to the San Jose Museum of Art for my friend's work holiday party which we work for the same company. I was not so impressed with the museum, kind of small.

3rd flying lesson

I had my 3rd flying lesson today. I did a slow start flight and power off stall. When I did the stall during my 2nd lesson that was more scary than the power off stall because we were simulating what would happen during landing if the plane stalled. I've learned a lot from my instructor like to use the rudder more than the yoke. I was able to do the preflight check myself and I found a screw missing from the one of the wings. So far, I flew a total of 5 hours. I need 50 hours more to do solo flight.

Manang Mary's Birthday

french laundry and flying

Last weekend I went to French Laundry for my cousin Manang Mary's birthday for a 9 course meal. Really good quality food. On Saturday, we auditioned for amazing race, cross our fingers. I flew the cessna 152 twice in the air, I practiced stalls which was scary at first but then I got used to it, and then I practiced turning left and right at a 30 degree angle, also ascend and descend.
