burn out
I didn't have electricity at my home from 9pm to 1am last night. When I was driving home, the stop lights were off. Good thing the electricity went back on.

I have been playing mah jong for three nights in a row. I'm so addicted. We would play for hours and hours and the time would go by so fast. Last night, we finished playing around 4am, the previous nights we finished around midnight to 1am since we had work the next day. I can't wait to play again. When I play, I feel like I'm in the zone and no sense of time.
I had a quick lunch with Haz at Java Sushi close to work. I got 10 California rolls for $3.50. That's cheap. My face has been feeling itchy lately, I wonder if it is allergies.
I played mah jong for 7 hours last night. I finally went to sleep around 4:30am. I was so addicted to playing and I was in the zone. I was surprised that it was already early morning when we stopped playing. I went window shopping around Stanford with Kris and Mike. I visited Kan's new baby boy Justin, 2 1/2 weeks old in San Jose. The night before, I went to Kristine's place to eat dinner and watch Family Man on the projector. Lately, I have been watching Seinfield season 1 and 2 on DVD. On Wed. for dinner, I had sushi at Isobune with Kris and Mike on Burlingame Ave. Today, I had dim sum with Kris at Fook Yuen in Millbrae.
I watched the movie Curse of the Golden Flower which I liked and the inside of the palace is so colorful especially the hallways. After the movie, Xine and I went to Beard Papa's Cream Puff next door to the theatre in Redwood City. Yeah, it is much closer than the San Francisco locations. Yesterday, I met up with Thuy for dinner at Fu Lam Mum Seafood. I met up with Hazel twice in a row for lunch, we had sushi at Momoya in Mountain View today and yesterday we went to Togo's close to work. I was so hooked in watching 24 TV show season premiere last night and on Sunday night.
I tried duck tongue at Kris and Mike's place with Tee and Dave. They sure know how to cook good Chinese food. We had baby bach choy, green beans, noodles, and soft tofu. We later watched Good Shepherd. I liked the movie but some parts were left hanging. Tonight, I can't wait to watch the season premiere of 24 in China. I was so bummed that I couldn't play mah jong last night with my cousin Lynn.
I visited my uncle and godfather in San Jose earlier because he is recovering from hip surgery from a month and a half ago. The doctors put a screw for his hip. He can walk but he has to use a walker.
I had lunch with Xine at Yo Ma Sushi, my co-worker recommended the sushi place. I liked the salmon teriyaki and the gilroy roll (eel, avocado, and basil). After work, I went to Stanford for Victoria Secret's half yearly sale.
I went to Straits Cafe on Santana Row with Day, Kim, and Ruth. We were celebrating Kim's birthday, Ruth's engagement (she is getting married in August), and Day's short visit back in the States. Day will be leaving this Saturday. We waited for 2 hours for a table at Straits Cafe. Next time, I will make reservations. First, we went to the coffee shop across from Straits for about an hour, and then we spent the 2nd hour waiting in the lounge area for our table. Later on, Straits Cafe turns the lounge area to a dancing area.
I had lunch at World Wraps with Maria. I will so miss Maria when she moves to Florida at the end of next month. Hopefully, she will come back to the Bay Area within a year. Over the weekend, I just hung out with friends and relaxed. I had dinner at Kris and Mike's place and we watched the movie Cars. I had coffee with Shilpa and browsed the bookstore.
I had a fun time in New York City with Maiko and my aunt Carrie. We went to the main tourist sites such as Statue of Liberty (spent half the day waiting), Empire State Building, Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center, Little Italy, Soho, Chinatown, and Times Square. We watched broadway plays of Hairspray and Color Purple. I liked Color Purple more than Hairspray. I got to sit in the front row of Hairspray by my aunt winning the lottery tickets 3 hours before the show started. I was at Times Sqare when the ball dropped. It is so not worth going there. I waited for 5 hours just standing and being so bored from looking at the ball and TV screen. I was standing at 54th and 7th Ave. The ball was at 42nd and 7th Ave. I had a far view. I so felt like a sardine and even when I tried to check the time on my watch I ended up bumping into someone.
