book: Anne of Green Gables

I just got back from Elk Grove. I left Friday night and I came back this morning. Elk Grove is about half an hour from Sacramento. Everytime I visit Elk Grove, I see new restaurants and new homes, big development there. I finished reading the book Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery. Shally recommended the book.

pick up mom from airport

My mom is coming back tonight from the Philippines. She was there for about 2 1/2 weeks. She visited the Philippines the same time as my auntie Carrie from New York. I'll be going to lunch with my co-worker Diana at J&J to get a sandwich. Yesterday, I had lunch at Jing Jing in downtown Palo Alto with my cousin Lynn, then we went to Macy's, Gap, and Banana Republic. I didn't buy anything. Then I went to Scott's Seafood for dinner with my cousin Lynn, Teresa, Caroline, and Joel.

no jury duty

Last night, I called the San Mateo court house to check if I have to attend jury duty today, and the voice message machine said that I was excused from jury duty for another year, I was so happy. If I had to go to jury duty today, I would have to drive to South San Francisco court house, good thing I was excused. Weird that I got assigned to South San Francisco when usually I get assigned to Redwood City. Yesterday after work, I watched the movie Lucky Number Slevin with my cousin Lindsay and her friend. I liked the movie. It seems like it has been a while since I watched a movie at the theatres. I can't wait to go home today to watch my Southpark DVDs of season 7. At work today, some of the parents are bringing in their kids for bring your kid to work day.

Stanford cafeteria

I'm going to meet my high school friend Nofo for lunch at the Stanford Hospital cafeteria. The hospital is so close to my work. The last time I saw Nofo was a few years ago.

taqueria los charros

I'm going to eat at Taqueria Los Charros for lunch with Hazel in downtown Mountain View. I finished reading Life Makeovers by Cheryl Richardson. Shilpa gave me the book. I also finished reading From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E.L. Konigsburg. Christine gave me the book. I have been reading Reader's Digest, especially the funny stories.

sato sushi

Yesterday, after I picked up Maria from the airport, we went to Sato Sushi. I think the last time I ate sushi was with Maria. I tend to eat sushi more with her. Then I met my cousin Lynn for happy hour at Scott's Seafood. We were watching the NBA playoffs. I have been to Scott's four times for the past 10 days. The day before, the strap on my flip flops broke while I was walking on Castro St. in downtown Mountain View, I was just laughing at myself, I had a hard time walking, so we went to East West Bookshop, the grocery store, and then finally we saw decent looking flip flops in the Global Beads shop.

eggettes

Yesterday, after dim sum we went to Polly Ann Ice Cream in San Francisco which has 400 exotic flavors, so I tried passion fruit and blueberry cheesecake. Then we went to eggettes next door for the honeydew waffle egg shapes which was good. That was the first time I tried the eggettes. I will be picking up my friend Maria from the airport because she is coming back from Italy.

koi palace

I'm going to Koi Palace for dim sum with Christine and Teresa. Afterwards, we are going to Tapioca Express to meet Shally to exchange pictures from our trip to Eastern Europe. Yesterday, I had dinner with Teresa at Spice Hut in Sunnyvale, then we went to Coffee Society in Pruneyard in Campbell. We initially wanted to go to Lisa Tea Treasures but the place was closed, oh well next time.

hair cut

Last night, I had dinner at Scott's Seafood with my cousin Lynn and her co-worker Joel. I finally met Joel the famous Joel, she is so much fun to be around. Afterwards, we went to Macy's and I bought black shoes. It was after 9pm, so we had to hurry up and get out of the store through the employee entrance. I have to pick up my bike today from Bike Connection, it took them about one month to fix the frame of my bike. Yesterday during lunch, I finally cut my amazon hair. It has been like 5 months since my last hair cut. I went to New Fashion Hair which my friend Dayna recommended. I had my hair layered and cut to my shoulder.

Peking Duck

Last night, I had dinner at Peking Duck with my co-workers. I ordered the special egg sauce chow fun with shrimp Hong Kong sytle, I liked it. We all ordered some type of noodle dish and lots of rice.

Macy's

Yesterday after work, I went to Scott's Seafood for half price appetizers and drinks. It is my cousin Lynn's favorite place. Then we went to 7 eleven to buy lotto ticket but we didn't win. After that, we went to Stanford shopping center to browse around Bloomies, Macy's, and Banana Republic.

cold stone

Yesterday, I had cold stone coffee ice cream with heath, twix, and kit kat. It was so yummy. After work yesterday, I went to Fish Market for dinner to get the cold salmon with clam chowder and sourdough bread. Today, I had yummy dim sum at Golden Wok with my cousin Lynn.

I'm back

I'm just got back from Vegas this morning. I woke up early to take an early morning flight. I lost about $200 playing at Bellagio for blackjack which took only about half an hour of gambling time. Then I played in Paris at the pai gow poker tables for 6 hours and I got 4 aces but that still didn't cover for my gambling losses. I so forgot to bring my player cards for Paris and Bellagio. This morning, I went to the Honda dealership because my car would squeak so loud after I made a complete stop and pressed the accelator. The mechanic fixed the squeak by tightening the alternating belt. I took my car last week to get my timing belt replaced and the 105k car service. I so want to read up more on the engine so I can understand what the mechanics are doing to my car.

off to Vegas

I am leaving soon for Las Vegas. I'll be back tomorrow. Just going for 24 hours with my cousins. I will be staying at Paris. So far, this is my 7th time going to Las Vegas.

Indhu's wedding reception

I am going to Indhu's wedding reception tonight. She had her wedding in India last year in November. I plan to do dim sum with Teresa and maybe my cousin Lynn. Yesterday after work, I went to Scott's Seafood for appetizers and drinks with my cousin Lynn and Teresa. Then we went shopping at Macy's and Gap. I bought a black jacket and 2 tops. I like shopping on Friday nights, less people I'm bumping into.

Good Friday

I can't eat meat today since it is Good Friday. I have to keep reminding myself because the past couple of years, I accidently ate meat on Good Friday because I forgot. I had lunch at Sue's for Indian lunch buffet with Christine.

CPK

I had lunch at California Pizza Kitchen ASAP with my cousin Lynn. After lunch, we went to Macy's, Banana Republic, Coach, J Crew, and Kenneth Cole. I bought black flip flops at Macy's. Since it is sunny outside, I'm going to start wearing my new flip flops. I went to Starbuck's for a green tea latte.

Starbucks

Yesterday, I went to Starbucks with my co-worker for lunch and I wanted to use up my gift card. I was planning to buy a coffee mug but they were so expensive like $20, instead I bought the coffee beans. I plan to go to dim sum for lunch today with my co-worker. I so miss the times when I ate dim sum every Sunday with my cousins.

credit card fraud

Yesterday, I tried to use my credit card and I was denied twice. Apparently, someone got a hold of my credit card number and started charging online at Home Depot, Fry's, Nordstrom, and Macy's. Good thing that the credit card company was able to detect the fraud since I notified the credit card earlier that I will be in Europe. Someone was using my credit card while I was flying back from Frankfurt.

I'm back

I had a great time touring Eastern Europe and Germany. Since I extended my stay in Frankfurt for another day because the flight on Sunday was overbooked and they asked for volunteers to go on the next flight on Monday and Delta gave Shally and I $1,000 each travel vouncher for a future Delta flight but I have to use the voucher within a year.

I'm in Prague

My feet so hurt. I walked over 7 miles today. I'm staying at Hotel Lunix which has free internet in the reception area. I went to Charles Bridge, Old Town Square to view the astronomical clock, Prague Castle, market, St. Nicolas Church, Tyn Church, and Wencelas Square. Tonight, I will be on the train to Krakow, Poland.
