cough

I just had lunch at the breakroom with my co-worker Diana. It was nice to eat lunch some other place instead of sitting in front of my computer eating and working at the same time. I have this cough for three days now, and it is weird because I didn't get a sore throat or running nose. Usually, I would get a sore throat first, then a running nose, and then coughing for a week to 2 weeks.

I am going to go home for lunch and then drive to San Francisco to run an errand with my mom. I will have to work late tonight to make up for my long lunch time. Yesterday, after helping Teri pack her things, we went to Golden Wok for dim sum. While I was packing her things, I felt like I was working for pottery barn wrapping the kitchen ware in newspaper and trying to wrap it nicely like an egg roll/lumpia so it can fit in the boxes.

my mentor is moving

I will help my mentor Teri pack her things today to get ready for her big move next weekend to Orange County. I will drive down with her to Orange County and take a flight back to San Jose. The pictures below look blurry around the middle left area.

I am going to Ruth's birthday lunch at Sonoma's Chicken in San Pedro area of downtown San Jose. Afterwards, I am going to a crab feed with my cousin Manang Mary and Tee for unlimited crab and hula dancing entertainment.

polly ann ice cream

I went to San Francisco to tour around Chinatown to eat dim sum, finally tried out the Polly Ann ice cream place that my co-worker raves about on Noriega and 39th Ave. in the Sunset area, and then went to Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park, it was the first time I have been there. I get to eat pizza for free during lunch time because my department is having a quarterly meeting of what's going on with our projects. I will be going on an avionics tour for 3 hours at United Airlines Facilities in San Francisco airport area, I hope I can take pictures on the tour. After the tour, I'm going to try out salsa dancing by taking beginner lessons for free with Tee, Maria, and Rhoda. I was so surprised that the lessons are for free. I have to go home for lunch because I need to look after my uncle. I have no plans today, I need to work late to catch up on my hours.

I plan to have lunch at Passage to India with Diana in Mountain View on El Camino Real for the lunch buffet. It has been like weeks since I had Indian food, so I am badly craving for it. We both love the naan. As for the evening, I am going over to Tee's place to bake veggie puffs.

Tapioca Express with Thanh

I forgot to bring my camera when I went to Tapioca Express with Thanh, oh well, I'll try to remember to bring my camera when we meet next month. It was good to catch up because I have not seen her in months. I was so happy that Thanh was free tonight to meet because she is so busy with her job. She has a big presentation tomorrow, and she found the time to meet up with me. =)

GAP sale -> cheap pants

I had dim sum at golden wok with my cousin Lynn, then we went to Banana Republic and GAP. I bought two khaki pants on sale for $14.97, so cheap. Feels so weird to be working on President's Day holiday. It seems like we are the only company on this block working in the Page Mill Rd. and Hanover St. Yesterday, I was not able to meet my best friend Thanh because she had to work last night. The food at Shabuway in downtown Mountain View is so good, and I like the atmosphere, where I can watch TV, and use the hot pot to heat the beef and veggies.

Capote

I am going to watch the movie Capote with Teri before the movie, we plan to have lunch. In the evening, I will meet up with Thanh, my best friend since middle school for bubble tea. Last night, I went to Straits Cafe in Burlingame with my co-worker, afterwards we wanted to play mini golf but it was closed.

Ross

I plan to go to Ross with Christine to buy a picture frame for my mentor. I have to drive my mom around to do her errands.

pho vi hoa

I had lunch at Pho Vi Hoa with my co-worker but I'm not sure if that is the correct spelling for the Vietnamese restaurant in Mountain View on El Camino Real, it was the closest Vietnamese pho to my work. When I get home, I am going to watch more of Dawson's Creek DVDs, I slept around 3am last night watching 5 episodes in a row, I can't wait to watch more episodes. On another note, I got an email from my mentor that she is moving to Orange County, I will so miss her, she has been my mentor since freshmen year of high school. She is moving because her ballroom dancing partner is in Orange County, she competes in amateur events.

vaccine

I waited about an hour to get my blood withdrawn for lab test in Kaiser to see if I need to get the vaccine for measles, mumps and rubella; it was a busy day in the lab area. I got a vaccine for typhoid (I have to get every 2 years) and polio which is a one time vaccine for an adult.

Feng Yuan

I had lunch with my co-worker Diana at Feng Yuan in the Charleston center in Palo Alto. Yesterday, I watched Dawson's Creek TV show season 4. I rented from Netflix. I also watched Spaceballs which is a spoof off of Star Wars, it was funny. Thanks Teresa for letting me borrow the DVD.

Brokeback Mt.

I watched Brokeback Mountain yesterday, a really good movie, nominated for 8 oscar awards. I had yummy food at the Burmese festival of tea leaf salad, moh hing nga (noodle soup), rice plate with chicken and spicey sprimp. I will probably go to La Playa for lunch.

I'm going to get my pedicure with my cousin Mary somewhere near her house in Santa Clara. Afterwards, I have to drop her at the San Jose airport. Yesterday, I went to Tung Kee with my mom and Ching-Wan.

dentist

I have a dentist appointment for my cleaning every 6 months. Before that, I am going to Target with my mom to meet up with my mom's friend Ching-Wan.

I'm going to Pho to Chau for lunch today in downtown Mountain View, I have not been there yet. After lunch, I'm going to the Chinese herbal medicine store for allergy medicine.

I had training class the whole day at work. I had dinner with Teresa at Kauai BBQ Grill for Hawaiian food in downtown Mountain View.

I liked the movie Transamerica. Felicity Huffman was so believable as a transgender. I watched only the 1st half of the superbowl because I watched Transamerica during the second half. Pittsburgh Steelers won the game against Seattle Seahawks.

I am going to Goldilocks for lunch today with my co-worker Diana. She wants to look at the wedding cakes at Goldilocks since she is helping her sister find a wedding cake.

tao of pooh

I finished reading Tao of Pooh by Benjamin Hoffman, a book about Taoism and how it relates to the characters in the cartoon Winnie the Pooh. I loved the book, and when I was a kid, I would hum the morning song of Winning the Pooh, it goes like this.... Time to get up, time to get going, it's going to be a bright new day, he's bumbly tumbly ....... (I forgot the rest.)

Hotel Cabana

I had lunch at Yo Yo Sushi with Maria, it was busy there, first time I saw it busy, usually the place is half empty. I am going eat dinner at Hotel Cubana Crown Plaza in Palo Alto because the hotel is offering early dinner special for $11.50 includes appetizer, entree and dessert.
