Happy New Year!

I woke up around 2:30pm. I so needed to catch up on sleep since I didn't sleep that much on the airplane because I wanted to finish reading the book Shadow of the Wind which I liked reading but it was predictable. I am trying to upload my Sydney photos on my yahoo album. Happy New Year! Best wishes for 2006!

I am waiting at Sydney airport to board my flight back to San Francisco. My flight will depart in an hour. I am using the internet for free at the samsung e-lounge area. This airport does not have many internet stations as Singapore airport. I will write more when I get back and post some of the pics on my yahoo picture album.

I will be leaving for Sydney, Australia tonight. I will come back on Friday Dec. 30th at 8:25am. I started reading The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. Dayna recommended the book.

memoirs of a geisha

Last night, I watched Memoris of a Geisha movie with Teresa, and it was okay. It got bad reviews from the movie critics. A few hours before the movie, I went to Tapioca Express to eat a late lunch with my cousin. I'm going to eat lunch with Teresa at an Italian restaurant called Vasso Azurro in downtown Mountain View.

24 TV show

Last night, I was watching 24 TV show season 4 disc 4 to 6. I was so addicted to watching, I even woke up early today to watch the remaining two episodes. It seems empty at work today, some people took the day off since tomorrow is Holiday work shut down. I'll be back to work on Tuesday, January 3rd.

I went again to Yo Yo Sushi for lunch with Maria. I finally saw the unagi on the sushi boats, for the past couple of weeks I would have to ask the sushi chefs to make it.

back pain

I have been in so much pain for the past two days especially when I bend down to pick up something from the floor, tie my shoe laces, or reach for something. I think my back started hurting after I was killing the ants in the bathroom, and I was bending down a lot to kill the ants around the toilet and floor. My lower back hurts a lot. I need to walk around to alleviate the pain.

work holiday potluck

I am going to my work department's holiday potluck for lunch. I woke up early this morning to make veggie puffs (mixed vegetables stuffed in puff pastry dough). I tried making the 1st batch but I burned the bottom of the veggie puffs. Good thing, I had a second batch prepared. Last night, I watched the movie Syrianna, a really good movie.

Mexicali Grill

I had lunch with Maria at Mexicali Grill, I had the chicken quesadilla. We usually go to Yo Yo Sushi for the past couple of months.

kanye west

I have been listening to the music by Kanye West, his album College Dropout. The song Jesus Walks is one of my favorite. I get this Friday off from work for the holiday, and I have to work only 32 hours this week. I will be on holiday from work because the company shuts down for Christmas break from Friday Dec. 23rd to Monday Jan. 2nd.

chicken little

I met up with Ian, my mom's friends daughter. I finally saw Chicken Little after hearing that it is a good movie. I liked the movie even though I had a kid sitting next to me talking to his mom during the movie. Before the movie, we went to Tapioca Express for the crispy chicken and Tea Era for the barley milk tea. I have been watching DVDs of the TV show 24 season 4 disc 1 to 3. .

ant problem

I have been killing ants this morning. They are crawling on the kitchen sink, the kitchen floor, and bathroom. The ants start crawling in my house because it is raining outside. Whenever it rains, we have ant problems, and the constructor of this house built the house too low. I kill the ants by using stickers.

Mom at Luu Noodle

Yesterday, I had lunch with my mom at Luu Noodle, the restaurant used to be called Tung Kee. I went to target, sears, walmart, and shoe pavilion.

I need to go shopping today to buy Christmas presents. I'm not sure yet which store I should go to.

We decided to go to Janta instead of Clay Oven because Clay Oven looked so empty, we will go there for lunch next time. I liked the food in Janta.

I watched 3 DVD movies for the past two nights, I saw Mambo Cafe which Dayna recommended, and it was funny, I also watched Look at Me, a French film which Christine recommended and it was good, and the last DVD I watched was Kicking & Screaming, it was a funny movie with Will Ferrell. I am going to dinner tonight at Clay Oven (Persian/Middle Eastern food) in downtown Palo Alto on Lytton Ave. I've never been there before. I am going to watch Apprentice tonight, I think it is the final episode.

I am going to Yo Yo Sushi again for lunch to meet Maria, my friend from high school. We go there a lot since we can get the food from the sushi boat fast and then leave to go back to work. Last night, I had dinner at In&Out Burger, it is so much better than McDonald's. My dad and my uncle like eating at In&Out Burger. I started playing with my digital camera last night and each picture was about 1MegaByte big, and I set the camera for 5.2 Mega pixels. Is there a way I can decrease the memory size to KiloByte for each picture?

Mollie Stone

I went to Mollie Stone's for lunch. I had the smoked salmon spring roll with peanut sauce, it was good and filling. I'll eat my Vietnamese sandwich for dinner. I ate outside and people watched.

HP digital camera

I finally bought a digital camera HP m417 model 5.2 mega pixels, I was tired of going to the drug store to develop my pictures. When I went to staples, I got the last camera in stock in the store, good thing, I was about to buy the camera online since it would have been free shipping but it would not have included the 256MB memory. When I went to the store, I got the 256MB memory for free. I will look for sale ads to get the 1GB or 2GB memory so I can take more pictures. Yesterday, I went to Huong Lan Sandwiches on Serra Way in Milpitas for yummy Vietnamese sandwich. I bought 6 sandwiches so I ate one today for breakfast, and I will eat another for lunch.

I'm going to meet Christine soon to eat Vietnamese sandwich, I so like the sauce in the sandwich and so cheap only $2-$3. I have to drive half an hour to get good sandwiches in Milipitas or San Jose. I have not found yet a really good Vietnamese sandwich near my house. I was looking at the Sunday sale advertisements today, and I saw an HP digital camera for 5.2 megapixels for $149.98 and $49.99 for dock. Is that a good deal?

target

I went to target and bought a keyboard gel pad and mouse gel pad. I feel so much better using the ergonomic stuff. After using the computer mouse, my wrist would start aching. I need to take more breaks from the computer.

My mom used my car last night and she accidently ruined my passenger side mirror. I can't let her use my car at night again. My mom repeatedly told me that she does not like to drive at night and on the highway but she was so insistent on driving the car last night. Good thing the mirror didn't break. The cover of the mirror is not connected to the car so it looks lopsided.

watched 3 DVDs

Last night, I had a DVD marathon, I watched 3 DVDs in a row of Deuce Bigelow in Europe (this is better than the first Deuce movie), Stealth (okay movie if you like watching navy airplane movies), and Robots (okay movie, I was trying to match the actor and actress voice with the robot characters. I am going to Tapioca Express for lunch today. I am going to get the mild crispy pepper chicken and regular milk tea with tapioca.

palm datebook

When I hot synced my palm pilot this morning with my PC desktop, the stupid palm pilot deleted my datebook information from 2002 to 2005 because I exceeded the memory limit for the desktop, so all the birthday information and appointments for the past three years is gone, I tried to retrieve the information by the datebook.dat file but it deleted all of those appointments. I am so upset that I am not going to use the palm for appointments, I'll just hand write my appointments from now on using my calendar.

greenpeace

As I was driving to work today, greenpeace is protesting against Hewlett Packard (HP) for their materials being toxic and harmful for the environment. The greenpeace organizer had a big yellow balloon with their radio station 91.3 FM explaining that other companies like Sony are using electronic material that is not so harmful as HP. I might go to Fry's today because I need to get a longer network cable of about 25 feet in my room because I have nearly tripped a few times because the network cable is running across my room.

car

I usually leave my wallet in the car while I am at work but I got an email saying that in my building parking lot someone broke into a car, now I have to bring my wallet inside my work building. It was so convenient to leave my wallet in the car so I don't have to carry it around. I liked the Freakonomics book, I would recommend the book to read.

new mouse

I have no plans today. I woke up late at noon, I am so lazy. I need to get a new mouse for my computer because it does not move smoothly as my mouse at work. I tried cleaning the ball inside the mouse but it still acts funny. I need to look for ads in the Sunday newspaper for sales. I am so ready for the Christmas break. I get 7 working days off from Dec 23rd to Jan 2nd.

I am going to have lunch at sushi o sushi in Santa Clara. I have not been there yet. Afterwards, I am thinking of watching aeonflux.

freakonomics

I started reading the book Freakonomics by Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner. So far the book is interestings about the hidden side of everything such as the truth about real-estate agents, crack gangs, cheating teachers, and the secret of the Ku Klux Klan. I waited for this book for a while because I was on the queue number 120 when I put a hold on this book in the library.

smog check

Where can I go for a smog check for a cheap price? I need to do a smog check to get my year registration with the DMV. I did a smog check two years ago which I paid a lot, now I have to do a second smog check. I'll look at the advertisements for good deals. I don't have work tomorrow. I can't believe it, already the 1st month of December. Time sure flies. I had lunch at Yo Yo Sushi in Mercado area.
