happy halloween

Happy Halloween! I have no plans for tonight. Last year, my family and I turned off the light but still we got trick or treaters at our door. Last night, my mom has been getting sent email errors when my mom tries to send her email through an aol email account, but when I tried sending an email though my aol email account, it works. I already tried deleting my internet cookies and clearing out my cache files. I had lunch at Yo Yo Sushi. So far, no one at my work dressed up for Halloween.

weatherman

Last night, I watched the movie Weatherman, it was an okay movie, it was slow and sad. Before the movie, I ate sushi at Sono Sushi in downtown Mountain View. Today, I had to turn back the clock one hour because of day light savings time. At 6ish, it is dark outside. I went window shopping around Macy's in Stanford.

legend of zorro

I watched the movie Legend of Zorro. I think the original is better, isn't that the case for most of the sequeal movies. The movie had a few funny lines, silly moments, and unbelievable stunts. After the movie, I had a late dinner at Queen House, Chinese/Tawainese food on Castro St in downtown Mountain View. I am going to Indhu's bridal shower. Indhu is getting married next month in India.

I am going to eat Indian food for lunch buffet at Passage to India in Mountain View on El Camino Real, close to Rengstorff. In the evening, I am going to watch Legend of Zorro.

SBC yahoo dsl complete

I am finally connected to a faster internet service at home. It took me a long time to connect because I had to buy an ethernet adapter card and 128MB of RAM for my old 5 year old computer. I fixed the problem of the driver for the ethernet adapter card by using an old WINDOWS 98 CD, so far I don't get the blue screens anymore.

dsl yahoo installation

I was up last night trying to install DSL yahoo on my computer. When I started up the installation, the software application installion CD told me that I don't have a network card adapter, so then I installed the network card, but then I had problems with the drivers for the network card, I had to also use my windows 98 CD to complete the driver installation which I could not find, I"ll search the attic tonight. Now my computer has problems, after I reboot a blue screen appears saying fatal warning, and it is calling all the files that I didn't install because I didn't have the windows 98 CD. Maybe I should get a new computer since it is 5 years old. Even when I tried to access AOL, it does not open the application. I rebooted my computer over 10 times, and I still get the blue screen. Yesterday, I had lunch at Playa Grill at Stanford mall. Lately, I have been eating lunch at Stanford. Today, I had lunch at Cheesecake factory, I ordered pesto chicken pizza, it is so hard to decide because it takes forever to flip through the menu.

La Baguette

Yesterday I ate lunch at La Baguette and Haagen Daaz, then walked around the Stanford mall. I ate at my friend's house for dinner, she cooked chicken and I boiled two separate dishes of bach choy and spinach.

Nola's

I went to my friend's house for dinner. I ate pea sprouts with beef, eggs with pork, and shrimps. After that, I went to Borders to browse around, then finally I went to Nola's in downtown Palo Alto. I will be dropping off Vim at the San Francisco airport in 4 hours.

straits cafe

Yesterday, I had brunch at Straits Cafe at Santana Row, I ordered the seafood and mushroom souffle, I am not going to order that again, it was just an omlete with a fancy name. Afterwards we walked to Valley Fair, and window shopped, then we had coffee at Peet's and stayed there for a couple of hours, then I watched Two for the Money, it was an okay movie about gambling with Al Pacino, Matt Machanhay, and Rene Russo. I got a speeding ticket for going 75mph which 10 mph above the speed limit on 101 near Lawrence Expressway when I was driving to AMC mercado, I was not paying attention to my speedometer, I was busy talking to Vim, I even saw the cop when I merged on the highway but I assumed that he speed up. Oh well, I need to watch my speedometer from now on. I have to go to traffic school. I think I have bad luck with car tickets because this is my third speeding ticket.

Black Eyed Peas Concert

I went to the Black Eyed Peas concert for free which was sponsored by Honda Civic. I was standing in the parking lot outside of the 49ers stadium. Blackilous performed before Black Eyed Peas. I so like their Elephunx album. I really like their Shut Up and Let's get retarded songs. After the concert, we ate at Naan and Curry in San Francisco on the corner of Leavenworth and Eddy, the food was authentic and cheap.

Lukoki Hawaiian BBQ

Last night, I went to Lukoki Hawaiian BBQ, I liked the spam loco moco. I dropped off my mom this morning because she went to protest in San Jose against the propositions for the upcoming election on Nov 8th. I already voted and sent my absentee ballot a few days ago. I will be picking up Vim from the airport and she will be staying with me until Tuesday morning, and then she will leave Thursday for India, she has a very busy schedule. Today is actually my 4 year anniversary for working at my company, I can't believe it that it has been that long.

famous person

I have to do my Spanish homework about interviewing a famous person and asking questions about their daily routine. Who would you interview? My friend Vim is visiting from Wichita, Kansas this weekend, and then she will be off to India in a week. I finished watching Southpark season 6, I so laugh a lot of the show, they make fun of everything.

addicted to Southpark

I have been watching southpark season 6 disc 1 and 3. I will watch disc 2 after work. The characters are too funny especially Cartman. I try to stay up on weekends and watch southpark from 11:30pm-12:30am on UPN. I am going to eat lunch at Pho Hoa at downtown Mountain View. It is a noodle house that closes late at 2am.

domino

Last night, I watched the movie Domino, it was a bit slow in the beginning, and I finally understood what was happening later in the movie. The camera kept moving around a lot which for some people might cause a headache. The movie was okay. I could have waited for the movie to be on DVD rental.

I have Spanish class tonight and I have to bring snacks, each time we have class, a different student bring snacks, it is my turn today. What do you like to snack on?

la baguette

I went to La Baguette for lunch today at Stanford shopping center, then I went to browse around Banana Republic, I didn't see that much on sale. I still like GAP material. I am going to watch the movie Domino tonight.

dumbest state

I listened on the radio that California is ranked 46 out of 50 for the dumbest state. Last year, California was ranked 43 for the dumbest state. Arizona is ranked the dumbest state 50 out of 50. Vermont is ranked the smartest state 1 out of 50. I wonder how they determine which state is dumb, by the public education.

gourmet franks

I went to Gourmet Franks at Stanford shopping center for lunch today to eat hot dogs, afterwards I went to GAP to look around and I bought jeans for $20. I have such a hard time finding the right length for jeans, even though I got the ankle length for jeans, it is still a little bit long, even the jeans that I am wearing right now, the length is touching the floor.

dallas trip

I went to Maxim's for dim sum in chinatown of Richardson's area. Afterwards, we went to my friend's friend BBQ, at first, the BBQ grill pit stunk like gas fumes, then it started to grill, beef, lamb, chicken wings, garlic bread, and tofu. I watched a lot of movies such as War of the Worlds, I also read the book while on the plane. The book is different from the movie. In the book, it mentions only his wife, but in the movie it mentions his kids and ex-wife. I liked the book better. I saw three Chinese movies, Her Fatal Ways, Honor Among Thieves, and Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring. My friend taught me a new card games called Run as fast as you can, it is similar to poker.

leaving soon

I will be leaving soon for Dallas, my plane takes off in a few hours. I will probably not see the tourist sites, more like visiting a friend.

Dallas tomorrow

I am going to Dallas area tomorrow for the weekend. I will back on Sunday. I am going to visit Kristine in McKinney, Dallas which is about 45 minutes drive from Dallas. Last night, I watched three episodes of Amazing Race season one on DVD. I bought more memory RAM for my computer, before I had 63MB (odd that the memory number is not even), and I added 128MB RAM to my computer, so now I was able to download AOL 9.0, before I had AOL 7.0. I tried to download AOL 9.0 in the past but since I didn't have enough RAM at that time, I could not download it. I like the AOL 9.0, it is so colorful. My computer is still slow because it is a pentium II. I am thinking of getting yahoo sbcglobal for internet connection so I will not hog the phone line when I go on the internet.

spanish class

I went to Tapioca Express for lunch today, the crispy pepper chicken was so spicey that my lips and tongue felt numb and tingling. I will be going to the language lab for class today but my cousin is not going with me to Spanish class today because she has a headache.

Scott's Seafood

Last night I went to dinner at Scott's Seafood in Palo Alto town & country village, it used to be located across from Ming's, the dinner bill was not so expensive since between 4-7pm, the appetizers and some of the drinks are 50% off. Afterwards, we went to Nola's on Ramona but it was crowded, so we opted to go to La Bodegita on California Ave. in Palo Alto. By that time, I had two lemon drop drinks, and I was not feeling so good, I felt like I wanted to throw up, but I felt better after I used the restroom and drank water. I have a very low alcohol tolerance level. I talked to Vim last night, and she cancelled her trip to go to Dallas this weekend because she needs to study for GREs, oh well, it will just be me visiting Kristine in Dallas.

Last night, I was working on my Spanish homework, it took me forever to translate a Spanish article in the El Mensajero newspaper. I was getting so tired of flipping through the dictionary of sometimes finding the word or figuring out how to conjugate the word. Someone called me last night but didn't leave their name, and the caller ID has only 6 digit numbers. I don't know who it is.

kite runner

I finished reading Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini about two boys growing up in Afghanistan, one moves to the States and the other stays in Afghanistan. I watched the movie History of Violence, it was a slow movie but I liked it. I went shopping at Stanford yesterday at Macy's and bought a down comforter, it feels so comfortable that I had a hard time getting up this morning. Yesterday, I ate at Gourmet Franks for hot dogs, it is in between Macy's and Bloomingdales, I had a tough time biting the meat.

Maryland

My friend Indhu will be moving to Maryland the middle of next month. It was such a surprise to hear that she will be moving since most of her family is in the San Francisco area. She is getting married next month in India.

bombay garden

I am going to Bombay Garden in downtown San Mateo, and then I need to get an oil change for my car. Afterwards, I have to drive my aunt to Alameda. For dinner I am going to Indhu's birthday dinner at Dave & Buster.

more vacation time at work

I used to get 10 days a year for vacation, and my company just increased vacation for 15 days a year about three weeks, so each month, I get 10 hours of vacation. I am so happy to learn of the new change. Yesterday, I had lunch at Playa Grill in Stanford shopping center, after that I went to Macy's to shop for my friend's birthday present. I was in the pajama section, and I saw a very cute outfit on the mannequin and it was the last one. The ladies in that department were so nice, they removed the outfit from the mannequin and I got 10% discount since the clothes were on display, good thing it was the right size that I needed to buy for my friend, and I so liked the yellow and gray color combo outfit. Today for lunch, I am going to a department meeting, yeah free food. Vim called me this morning, and she changed her flight to visit the BayArea for 10/22 weekend instead. I need to do a lot of cleaning around the house.

40 year old virgin movie

Last night I went to Tapioca Express for bubble tea. I had the barley milk tea, I could taste the small bits of the barley. After that, I watched the movie 40 year old virgin, it was funny, the comedy reminded me of American Pie. Tonight, I have my 2nd Spanish class.

Vim

I just heard good news, Vim is coming to visit this weekend. I can't wait to see her. The last time I saw her was in May. We try to meet each other once a year.

pit card game

Last night, I went to dinner at my friend's house, we had pizza, hamburger helper, and bach choy. Then afterwards, we played the card game called pit, it is similar to a stock market game, each player gets 9 cards, and the object of the game is for the player to get the same suite for all 9 cards. Whoever is the first one to touch the pit and get all 9 cards is the winner. Today, I am going to lunch at Fu Lam Mum in downtown Mountain View, I so like their fried rice and congee.

homework

I have to do my homework for Spanish class, but I feel so lazy, I have been putting it off and doing other things like I had to finish reading Nickel and Dimed, it gave me an insite to the minimum wage workers life.

Nickel and Dimed

I finished reading Memoirs of a Geisha, and the book is really good. I can't wait to see the movie. I started reading Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich.
