eyebrow

I so need to go today for an eyebrow wax at Charisma in Menlo Park on El Camino Real. My eyebrows are so out of control, too much fine hair, I tried to pluck it but some of the fine hairs are hard to grasp with the tweezer. Later today, my aunt will show me how to cook Shepherd's Pie, she learned how to make it in Australia, I know that the main ingredients are potato and ground beef.

BBQ lunch

I went to a company BBQ lunch. It is held once a year. I saw old co-workers that I have not seen in a long time. Me at the BBQ trying to stuff my face. I am with my co-worker Diana.

memoirs of a geisha

I started reading Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, so far the book is really good. I will probably finish by this weekend. I finished reading Rule of 4, and it was not as good as Da Vinci Code. When they solved the puzzle, I was like that's it. On another note, I will start Beginning Spanish class tonight at Stanford University continuing education program, the class is 10 weeks long, and I only have to meet once a week for 2 hours. I took 3 years of Spanish in high school but I forgot most of it. I have a hard time pronouncing the words with the proper stress and accent.

tired

I was so tired yesterday that I passed up on eating at my friends apartment for dinner. I wish I could cook like her. Last time I cooked fish, it tasted so bland because I put so much water. Nothing much is happening with me, just working and working. I get so tired from working that I want to do nothing at home but watch TV.

rule of 4

I started reading the book Rule of 4 by Ian Caldwell and Dustin Thomason. On amazon.com, the reviews mentioned that this book is similar to Da Vinci Code, so far the book talks about college students in Princeton.

eyre affair

I finished reading Eyre Affiar by Jasper Fforde. Thanks Namelie for the recommendation. I liked the ending of the book. I have not read the book Jane Eyre but I have seen the movie. I watched Lord of the Rings again, all three of them. Once I started watching the 1st movie, I had to watch the remaining 2nd and 3rd movie.

Elk Grove

Since I am not going to Dallas this weekend, I am going to visit my cousin in Elk Grove, it is about 30 minutes away from Sacramento, about a two hour car ride from East Palo Alto. Every time I go to Elk Grove, there is a new restaurant or store being built close to my cousins house. Property value is going up, my cousins neighbor sold their house for $400k of a two bedroom and two bath .

changed ticket for Dallas

I was suppose to go to Dallas, Texas this weekend to visit college friends but I had to reschedule my airplane ticket for next month because of the hurricane Rita in the Houston area. I heard that a lot of people are going to Dallas and that the highways are bumper to bumper.

I am going to dinner at Queen House in downtown Mountain View for Chinese/Taiwanese food, it reminds me of a noodle soup place.

american diabetes association

During lunch today at work, a guest speaker from the American Diabetes Association will talk about awareness, how to avoid, symptoms, and other information. I am worried about being diagnosed with diabetes since it runs in my dad's family. Most of my dad's brother and sister have diabetes where they take pills or insulin shots. Good thing that my mom's side does not have diabetes.

new balance

Last night, I went to Big 5 Sporting Goods and Copelands to look for new balance 529 shoes. I didn't find the 529 shoes. I like how new balance numbers their shoe so I know which shoe to get next time with out the bother of trying it on. When I was walking through Macy's to exit the Valley Fair mall, I ran into an old classmate from college, I forgot her name, it was like blast from the past, she is working in a small start up, I wonder what the other people in my engineering class are doing now. I have a skip level lunch meeting today with a few of my co-workers and the vice president of my department. I am still thinking of a question to ask him. Hmmmm.... Any suggestions for a question to ask the VP?

Last night I saw the movie Just Like Heaven, it was an okay movie, there was one very funny scene and a couple of cheeezy lines.

tapioca again

Yesterday, I went to Tapioca Express again, I sure love their crispy pepper chicken, I usually get the combo A with tapioca milk tea. After that, I dropped off my friend at the San Jose airport.

lord of war

I watched the movie Lord of War, based on actual events about an arms dealer. The movie was so good and so true.

walking

I finished reading God Still Don't Like Ugly, it was a good book. I went walking today on Middlefield Trail and then to downtown Mountain View. I went to the Italian gelato for creme brulee and tiramisu flavors. After that, I had pepper crisy chicken at Tapioca Express. I will watch a movie today.

God Still Don't Like Ugly

I started reading the sequel book God Still Don't Like Ugly. The story is about Annette when she was 30 to 36 years old. I don't have work today since I worked 10 hour days from Monday to Thursday. I am going to sono sushi for lunch. I have not had sushi in a while. My favorite is the tuna sashimi and unagi.

I finished reading God Don't Like Ugly by Mary Monroe. It is a really good book. I had a hard time putting the book down. I went to sleep so late last night because I wanted to finish the book. It is a coming of age story of girl, Annette who gets abused and how she befriended a girl with opposite looks. The story goes from when Annette was 7 to 30 years old.

cooking dinner

I normally don't cook, I usually heat up left overs or canned foods in the microwave. I went to my friend's new apartment, and the place had a homey feeling. She cooked jerk chicken and I baked veggie puffs which is frozen veggies stuffed in the pastry puff.

SM library

I went to the San Mateo main library on Park Place, and the area looks brand new, more like luxury living. It was off of Hillsdale Blvd in San Mateo, I wanted to check out a book that my cousin recommended, and it was the closest library that had it. I will probably start reading the book, God Don't Like Ugly by Mary Monroe, during the weekend, since I feel so tired after work. After I finish that book, I plan to read the sequel, God Still Don't Like Ugly, if the first book is good.

elliptical

Yesterday, I went to the gym and went on the treadmill for an hour and afterwards, I went on the elliptical for about 15 minutes, I like the elliptical with the stationary arm rest. I finished reading the eight book, I recommend this book to read, if you like reading the da vinci code.

kalderieta

Last night for dinner, I helped my aunt cooked kalderieta, a Filipino beef stew dish with tomato sauce, it took nearly an hour and a half to cook. Today is my aunt's birthday, she wants to cook noodles on her birthday to represent long life. I might do dim sum with my cousins or dinner in downtown Palo Alto.

relaxing day

So far, I have 200 pages more to read The Eight by Katherine Neville. The book is really good, I had a hard time putting the book down. I didn't get a chance to watch a movie yesterday, maybe today.

Friday off

I am so happy that I have today off from work. I slept in. I only had to work three days this week since Monday was Labor Day holiday. I have no idea what I will be doing today. I want to go to the gym or watch a movie. I still need to read more pages on The Eight book.

cafe brioche

Yesterday I had lunch at Cafe Brioche, a small French restaurant on California Ave. I had take out dinner from Hunan Homes, Chinese food. I eat out too much, I need to start cutting back. For lunch today, I am going to Tapioca Express for crispy pepper chicken. I went over my friend's house for dinner, I wish I could cook like her. She puts sugar in her stir fry dishes to make it more tasty.

hours

I have to work more hours today and tomorrow so I can get this Friday off. Usually, my time card schedule is 10 hours from Monday to Thursday because of the Labor Day holiday, the company changed my work schedule to 8 hours from Monday to Friday, and this Friday is an off day for most of the people in the company.

hot pot city

I am going to Hot Pot City tonight for my friend's birthday dinner. It is a Korean restaurant in Milpitas of the Ranch 99 area. I bet my clothes will smell like food afterwards. This morning, I went to the San Francisco airport to pick up my cousin, and I accidently ran over her foot because I thought she was inside the car and I kept on driving. I felt so bad, I guess I was so tired and it was early in the morning. I had a bad dream last night, it was so awful, I dreamt of some guy getting stabbed in the chest, I tried to force myself to wake up a couple of times but it didn't work, and then my feet felt so much pain, and then another guy in my dream was telling me to follow him and then I woke up from my dream. Did my dream have a connection with what happened this morning with running over my cousin's foot?

40 days rosary

I will go to St. Francis of Assisi Church for my aunt's 40 days rosary mass. It is a prayer for my aunt to enter heaven. After the rosary, the reception will be in the church hall. I have to help prepare the dishes for the reception and get take out food from the Su Hong restaurant. They have good chicken salad. It feels good to not go to work today because of Labor Day holiday.

the eight

Yesterday, I ran on the treadmill for 65 minutes, afterwards I felt jumpy and bouncy, I guess because my heart was racing and then I stopped running. I will try to go to the gym again today. I finished reading Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco, it was an okay book, I was surprised of the killer's name. I had to keep the dictionary next to me when I was reading the book. Today, I will start reading The Eight by Katherine Neville, my friend recommended the book.

eggs florentine

Last night, I made eggs florentine, it is like a quiche, and eggs are so my favorite to eat. I am going to try to make cheesecake jello without baking using paper cup cakes as the container. I had to go buy more food from the Grocery Outlet and Foods Co. in Redwood City, it is so much cheaper than Safeway and Albertsons because the customers have to bag their own purchase.

prepare for 40 days

I have to go to target and safeway. I need to help my parents prepare for the 40 days rosary prayer for my aunt. It will be 40 days after her death. I still miss my aunt. After the rosary, my family and I will box her clothes. I still can't believe it that she is gone. Once in a while, I will go to the cemetery to visit her, since the cemetery is so close to my work.

pasta

This morning, I dropped my cousin off at the San Francisco airport. She is going to Hawaii for a wedding, lucky her. I had lunch at pasta with a question mark at downtown Palo Alto. It is nice that I can watch tv while I am eating at the pasta restaurant, the tv was showing a tennis game of the US open. I am not a big fan of watching tennis. I don't really watch sports anyway. I use to like watching NBA basketball in high school.
