stupid badge

I had breakfast at Stanford faculty club. Every Wednesday, the club offers hot foods like eggs, bacon, sausage, spinach, potato, and mushroom. I have to go to Sunnyvale to replace my work badge because the magnetic strip does not work all the time. I had to call my co-worker to let me in the building. I did not win the lotto, none of my numbers matched the winning numbers.

yo yo sushi

Yesterday, I had lunch at yo yo sushi, I so like sitting at the sushi boat area because it is so fast to get the food and leave. Today, I am going to Mollie Stone's for lunch, last time, I had their sushi, and it was surprisingly fresh and good. Initially, I thought it would be stale sushi like the ones at safeway.

Lotto ticket

I bought a quick pick lotto ticket last night at 7 eleven. I have not played the lotto in a long time. I purchased the mega million ticket for a chance to win $111 million. I will find out the results tomorrow.

name of the rose

I started reading the book, Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco, my friend recommended the book, so far the book is set in an abbey, the monks are investigating a death of one of their fellow monk.

cleaning

I spent my morning, just cleaning around the house and watching the TV show, CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) season 3. I am waiting for my uncle to come back from dialysis because I have to feed him since my dad went to Stockton again. I am going to Santana Row in the afternoon for snack.

stockton

I went to Stockton today with my dad. He wanted company to drive on the road for about 2 hours since it was so traffic going there. I am leaving soon for my friend's birthday dinner at Mediterrean Grill in downtown Mountain View.

wed night movies

Yesterday, I went for dinner at Cuccini (Mediterrean food) in downtown San Jose of the San Pedro square area. A year ago, Fanny & Alexander (F&A) used to be in San Pedro square area but it closed down, and Cuccini is now at that location where F&A used to be. Outside of the restaurant, San Jose city was playing the movie, Breakfast at Tiffany's on San Pedro St. Lots of people brought their lawn chairs to watch the movie for free.

Today, I went to the gym, so far I have gone three days in a row which is a big improvement for me. I had lunch at Tibco, close to my work. I plan to go to Sushi House in Alameda for dinner with YY and T.

faculty club

I went to the gym again this morning. I feel so much better after the gym. I had breakfast at the Stanford University faculty club. I went to Yo Yo Sushi for lunch. I plan to have dinner in downtown San Jose.

gym

I went to the gym early this morning. The last time I went was last week, I was so tired on the treadmill. At my gym, they have a new machine that looks like skis, I wanted to try the machine but all 4 of them were out of order.

red eye

Yesterday, I watched the movie Red Eye, it was an okay movie, action and suspense by Wes Craven. I finally finished reading the book Lamb by Christopher Moore, it was a funny story of Christ's best friend. I had dim sum at Golden Wok. I renewed my 24 hour gym membership for another year.

2nd horse riding lesson

Yesterday, I went to eat lunch at Pho Tay Bay in San Jose, they had really good pho, I had the seafood noodle. Then I went to Cevalo Ranch for my 2nd horse back riding lessons. On Thursday, I had a group lesson, and this time, I had a semi-private lesson. I am kind of afraid of the horse. I spent an hour of volunteer work at the horse ranch by changing the drinking water of the horses. I ate a falafel wrap at a Mediterrean restaurant in downtown Mountain View. I went to sleep early, I was so tired.

mom's birthday

I am going to eat breakfast at the Stanford Faculty Club because my cousin works at Stanford and she can bring two guests. I plan to have lunch at Tofu House in Palo Alto. I was not able to go last week because we went to a sandwich place close to work instead because one of my co-workers had a meeting. It is my mom's birthday, so I will take her to Todai for Japanese food buffet.

horse riding lessons

After work, I am going to my friend's house for dinner. Should I bring something? Do you bring food when you go over a friend's house to eat? After dinner, I am going to horse riding lessons. I never rode a horse, so it will be a nice experience, I heard that people get sore after riding. For lunch today, I went to Yo Yo Sushi.

broken flowers

Last night, I watched another movie, my third movie this week, I saw Broken Flowers, an independent film, it had good reviews on the rotten tomato movie review web site but I was a bit disappointed, I was like.... that's it. Before the movie, I ate at pasta pomodoro at Santana Row, I was surprised that it was busy on a Tuesday night. This morning, I went to the gym again, this time, I don't feel so sore. For lunch, I went to Maru Ichi (Japanese noodle house) in downtown Mountain View.

dukes of hazzard

Last night, I watched the movie Dukes of Hazzard. It was an okay movie. 4 brothers was much better than this movie. Before the movie, I ate dinner at Da Kitchen, it is a Hawaiian restaurant close to the Century 16 theatres, good thing we got there at 6:30pm because the restaurant closes at 7pm. This morning, I went to the gym, I was on the treadmill for 30 minutes and then did the arm and leg weights. When I went last week to the gym, I was sore for a couple of days.

forerunner church

The night before, I went to church in Fremont called Forerunner Christian Training Center, I felt it was a lot of bible studing. We sang for the first 1/2 hour and then the rest of the 2 and 1/2 hours the speaker talked about the bible, the church session was both in English and Chinese, I even borrowed a headset so I can understand the Chinese part.

I have to pick up my cousin at the Oakland airport, so far away. She missed her morning flight, so I have to go during my lunch time to pick her up. I had a feeling she would miss her flight, I should have gone to work earlier.

4 brothers

I went to my cousin co-worker's house for brunch. She cooked yummy food: egg florentine (looks like quiche), asparagus and tomatoes in olive oil, mix fruit bowl, and pastries. Then we went to Stanford mall to window shop, now the GAP is opened after renevation, it looks much nicer. Then we went to Tapioca Express, craving for the crispy pepper chicken, and we watched the movie Four Brothers, it is a good movie. I would recommend it.

lamb

I am going to my friend's daughter birthday lunch at Chevy's, she turned 1 year old. I started reading the book Lamb The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore. So far the book is funny.

bingo

After the novena rosary, I played bingo with my dad, aunts, uncles, and cousin. It was so much fun, even though I lost $5. We would play a quarter for each game. We played for 4 hours, and we finally stopped at 1:30am, bingo is so addictive, we kept saying that we will stop in 15 minutes, but we just ended up playing more bingo.

9 days of novena prayer

Tonight, my relatives will be coming over my house for the 9 days of novena prayer for my aunt, we will even have a priest to perform the mass and give out the holy bread. It is 9 days because that is when my aunt's spirit gets ready to go to heaven. Her spirit had 9 days to wonder about and travel around the world to visit people. I have to pick up the catered food for the rosary at Golden Phoenix grocery. I am going to Tofu House (Korean food) for lunch in Palo Alto, close to El Camino Way on El Camino Real, it is a newly opened restaurant, next to Fuki Sushi. I think it is the same owner as the Tofu House in Santa Clara on El Camino Real near Lawrence Expressway.

I look like my mom

I was talking to my relatives last night since every night they come over to my house to do rosary prayer. They say that I look like my mom, and everytime my mom denies that I look like her, when obviously I look like her. Why does my mom always say I don't look like her? I was kidding last time, saying that I was adopted. By the way, I had Amarin Thai for lunch, it felt good to eat outside.

new cubicles

I moved into my new cubical. I am still working in the same cubical spot but this time, my cubical wall is light gray and blue which is much better to look at than the ugly old brown cubical wall. My desk is attached to the cubical wall, I am stuck with my computer being at the corner. It is nice to have a change of work environment.

My parents keep bugging me to join the rosary and do the prayer for my aunt each night. My family has to pray for 9 days and then 40 days. I so don't want to join the prayer but I feel so pressured. I don't get it .... why my uncles don't join the prayer, it is usually my aunties that pray.

I finally went to the gym this morning, I only ran for 2 miles on the treadmill and I did arm and leg weights. It has been such a long time since I have gone. I need to renew my membership by the end of this month because my three year contract is going to expire.

Yesterday, I had lunch at Fu Lam Mum Seafood restaurant in downtown Mountain View. I so like the house special fried rice and the rice porridge.

Today, I am going to world wraps for lunch.

finished

I finished reading the Harry Potter book last night. It took me about three days to read it. So many pages....652. I was surprised towards the end of the book. I can't wait to read the last book. I will probably have to wait 2 years for book 7.

I like reading the harry potter books. I have read book 1 to 5. I am still reading book 6.

doctor appt.

I have an eye and dentist appointment today. I started reading book 6 of Harry Potter and the half blood prince.

back to work

I feel weird coming back to work, I have not been to work for nearly a week because of all the errands and running around for my aunt's burial. My aunt was buried yesterday morning. I feel good knowing that she is in a better place since she was not in good health here in this life. I so feel like blah or lazy right now, even drank coffee but I still don't feel motivated.

My cousin Boni is leaving tomorrow morning .... so sad, I will miss eating out with him, especially dim sum. Tonight, we will be going out for Indian food for his going away and later to F&A for him to say bye to the bartenders.

Today:
I went to the mortuary to be with my aunt’s body. I spent most of my day there. The viewing was for 8 hours. I only went to work for half an hour today so that I can print out my aunt’s photos. I made 3 poster collage of her photos. At work, I requested to use bereavement time, since I was close to my aunt, if they say that I can’t use bereavement time, then I will use vacation time.
I had to run errands, get the poster boards for the pictures, buy paper plates and forks since everybody comes over to my house for rosary and prayer for the past couple of days. We have to pray for 9 days and another 40 days every night, and people will be coming over my house to pray.

Yesterday:
I went to the mortuary again to view my aunt’s body. The viewing was only for three hours, we had rosary prayer for an hour.
